Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website saves to your browser to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage. We use them too, but only for the things meraGPT actually needs to work.

2. What we use them for

• Authentication. When you sign in with Google, we set a session cookie (via NextAuth) so you don’t have to sign in on every page. Without it, you can’t use the dashboard.
• Payments. Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout and customer-portal pages it hosts. Those are Stripe’s and follow Stripe’s policy.
• Where you came from. If you arrive on a link that carries campaign tags (the utm_ parameters in an ad or newsletter link), we save those tags and the page you landed on in a first-party cookie, mg_ft, for 90 days. If you create an account, we record them once against it, so we can tell which links bring people who sign up. Nothing else about you is in it, and it is never shared.
• Ad measurement (X). We advertise on X (Twitter), and use X’s pixel to learn whether those ads lead people to run the playground, create an account or buy credit. It sets X’s cookies and tells X when one of those three things happens; for a sign-up or a purchase it sends our account or payment id so X counts it once, never your name or email. X’s cookies follow X’s privacy policy.

That pixel is the only third-party advertising tracker on the site. Blocking X’s cookies or scripts in your browser, or with an ad blocker, turns it off and does not affect anything else on the site.

3. How to control them

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the meraGPT cookies above, signing in will stop working. If you block Stripe’s cookies on the checkout pages, checkout will likely fail.

4. Changes

We’ll update this page if our cookie use changes. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
